I realise the sale is now over, but we all know that B I G hair sale at Priceline is going to be back. So when it does return, I want us all be informed and ready for our next round of purchases. As you may know, I previously did a blog post on my 'wishlist' for the sale (which can be found, here), and here we are 2nd time round with little hair haul...
I have used the Lady Jayne Tanglepro Detangling Brush for quite some time now and it was on my original repurchase list, but for some weird reason I thought to myself.. "Step outside your comfort zone and try something new, Telisha" And to be completely honest with you after this brush, I will be making my way back to my trusty Lady Jayne. Not that the TBX brush is bad in anyway, but because I am comparing it to something else, it just doesn't make the cut. It doesn't feel as sturdy and it feels almost rough - and I'm not quite sure if that comes down to not having a proper handle for even grip or the bristles themselves, which I can definitely feel on my scalp. But don't get me wrong, the brush still does it's job! It brushes/detangles my hair, just not to the comfort that I am use to.
These bad boys were mentioned in my previous post and I actually purchased them! LOL. Of all the products, I was most excited to use my new shampoo & conditioner. I have only used them once, and I have to say my first impression is pretty good. Similarly, to the brush because I am comparing the duo to my past shampoo & conditioner I find I have more of an opinion. Shamefully, the main and biggest difference is the scent, which I totally love. It's only a shame because I'm not use to using products with a scent, whereas the Maui Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner not only filled my shower with a cute fragrance, it also left my hair smelling salon fresh (noted, also by my boyfriend). The second point that was noticeably different, was my drying time. I will always air dry my hair and I'm not to sure with specific times but I know my hair was drying a lot quicker than usual. And when wet, my hair didn't feel as heavy as it would usually. I'm not quite sure why these things happened, or what ingredients had an influence on my experience, but I know I will continue to use this brand and repurchase. (PS, vegan product alert - which is even better for my hair, body and the environment).
Mmm.. So, I'm still undecided on the spirals. I have only ever used the 'standard' hair ties, so this was a very new and weird experience for me. At the moment, I think I will use the spirals more for home/casual use. Generally, when I'm at work I wear my hair in a tight pony tail (purely for convenience and functionality) and I find I can't get my desired look with these hair ties. Which is understandable when you are claiming a 'kink free' product - I honestly don't think it would be kink free with the pressure that I normally use. As for the kink free function, I am still to test that theory out, but I have heard they're pretty good for that.
Bit of a boring purchase for you, but I needed a stock up of 'normal' hair ties. Never used this brand or style before but will get back to you if I have any major breakthroughs or unfortunate experiences.
Dominate Men's Grooming Pomade & Tortoiseshell Comb
If you can't already tell, these two products were not purchased on my behalf. My partner accompanied me on my little Priceline trip and he also took advantage of the sale. I am not to familiar with men's grooming products, but the verdict is pretty good. For someone more prone to using wax than a gel, my boyfriend stated that the pomade is better than gel, but not as good as wax. It gives off a wet look, but with a wax style texture. A repurchase is definitely on the books.
