If you know me (or follow me on Instagram), you will know I was very excited for this collaboration. We all know Jennifer is an absolute legend in the entertainment industry and she is continually pushing all types of boundaries. This lady dances, sings and acts just to name a few of her many talents. Growing up in the 90's, JLo is definitely someone I have always admired and grown up around, from 'Jenny from the Block', to 'Maid in Manhattan', to the release of her book 'True Love' (which is quite a good read, FYI). And honestly, this lady keeps getting better with age - at 40 she is killing the game (peep those rock solid abs on her latest vacay Insta pics.. total babe and fitspo, if you ask me!!)
So, when I first heard she was collaborating with Inglot on a makeup line, I was all for it. I have never used Inglot before which was also something I was excited about. Unfortunately, I didn't purchase the collection straight away because I personally wanted to see the collection in person to get a feel for the products and shade/colour range. But when Inglot posted about a little JLo birthday sale, I had to jump on the opportunity.
If I could, I would've purchased the whole collection, but your girl has to stick to her budget, so I went with the products I thought best represented Jennifer's infamous look - Highlighter, Bronzer and Lip gloss! JLo is renowned for her bronnzy, glowly goddess type makeup looks and I thought of all the products, these three would best recreate that vibe.
As you can see, I purchased a Boogie Down Bronze (Golden Sun), two Livin' the Highlight Illuminators (Luminous & Radiant) and two Lipglossy Lip Glosses (Goldilips & Burnt Sienna). I knew I was going to get both the loose pigment highlighters, because I could not only use the product on my cheekbones, but also my eyes and body for that 'holiday' glow (watch out JLo, I'm coming for ya LOL). Although, I did have trouble choosing shades in the bronzers and lip glosses. I'm not sure if it comes down to the pictures on the Inglot website, or if the colours are all very similar, but I was having a hard time differentiating between shades. There wasn't much a description on colours either, some websites will mention in depth colour tones or undertones and I was having no luck in finding swatches or reviews online. I was basically, going off the website pictures, the names and my gut instinct. Hence why I wanted to see the collection in person first, before purchasing online, but the sale was for one day only, so I did my best and just went with it.
Based on the knowledge I was given, I think the lip gloss colours I chose were pretty good. I can see myself using the Goldilips as a topper on other lip products. Burnt Sienna, the other lip gloss shade seems to be a nice nude gloss, it has more pigment that Goldilips but can still be used by itself or as a topper. But as for the bronzer shade, until I use it (which I haven't just yet), I won't know if the shade is too light, too dark/orange or just right for my skin tone. But from the swatches below, I think it'll be fine.
R-L: Golden Sun, Radiant, Luminous, Goldilips, Burnt Sienna.
Overall, I am happy with my purchases (I haven't been that excited for a parcel, in forever) and the service was amazing! Fast in every aspect on Inglot's behalf - confirmation emails and shipping. I was so shocked at how fast my order arrived. But based on the swatches, I am super keen to actually put these products to use and see how my first experience with Inglot goes.
But as per usual, if you guys have tried or bought any of the JLo x Inglot collaboration products, or any Inglot products, let me know what you love and don't love.. I would love to hear your experiences!
Until next time.. xo
