WHAT'S NEW! // KKW Beauty x Mario Collaboration & Fenty Beauty's Body Lumanizer

😍

Happy Tuesday beautiful people! I hope your week so far has been enjoyable, and if not, it's about to, with some of these upcoming beauty products releases...

Generally I get excited for anything related to Kim (or the Kardashian/Jenner clan) and her makeup brand is no exception to that. KKW Beauty has had some major releases recently and whilst I've had interest in some of the products (particularly the concealer kits and ultralight beams), I became very overwhelmed and found I simply couldn't keep up. I'm not quite sure if it's just me that isn't  'keeping up' with the game, but I felt like new products were dropping every week - with Instagram videos, photo shoots and YouTube reviews. As an Australian consumer (with the time difference and currency conversion) it's very difficult, with the popularity and interest of Kim's brand to make a purchase before a product is sold out. I understand how the factors of product quantities, customer numbers and my own efforts, especially, affect my current thoughts on the situation. I know that if I really wanted a product I would make the effort to purchase it. Maybe I'm lazy? Maybe the products aren't screaming out to me? Or maybe, I can't justify the Australian dollar conversion, as well as shipping (which can be a sucker sometimes)?

But, lo and behold a product that I was genuinely excited for... The KKW x Mario Collaboration, which includes a 10 colour eye shadow palette, a satin lipstick and 2 high shine glosses. Yaaaaass!

I don't know what it is, but I live for brand collaborations. I always find it intriguing to see how two people/brands come together and create something that represents the two of them, in the one product. So when I first saw the teasers for this collab, I couldn't wait to see the final product. And wow, what a masterpiece creation.

The story behind Kim and Mario's relationship is the sweetest... Mario first started working for Kim in 2008 and together they have created so many iconic looks and trends. In celebration of their 10 year anniversary, they decided to put a collection of products together that symbolized and would create many of Mario's 'Classic Kim' looks. I personally think this is an awesome concept, as many people look to Kim for makeup inspiration, and who better to create products with, than the makeup artist himself?

As you can see, majority of the eye shadow colours (other than that beautiful cobalt blue) are your standard 'neutral bronzy' shades, that many other brands offer. I'm sure there will be people out there saying the colours are pretty 'average', or nothing 'new', but together these shades have Kim and Mario's names all over it and I think that's exactly what they aspired for - a representation of their past and future makeup looks. If you already owned similar colours, you may think twice about purchasing the palette unless you are wanting to consider factors such as texture, finish, pigmentation, quality and brand. These elements differ between companies, and you may find the matte caramel brown shade in your current collection isn't quite as pigmented as the KKW x Mario 'Miami'. But that doesn't mean you couldn't replicate a look using similar colours you already owned. The decision is yours, and of course if you're an avid makeup lover/collector, or a fan of Mario and wanting to support his current project, then go for it.

I also have similar thoughts in regards to the lip products. I have no doubt they are great quality products and staple 'Kim' colours, but how do they compare and differ from the shades of KKW's Kylie Cosmetics collaboration? Although, I do personally take interest in the high shine glosses. Glossy lips have made a recent comeback in the makeup industry and I'm always looking for low maintenance lip products. The glosses are something I could really utilise - just a simple lip liner + gloss look and I'm good to go.

With everything said (all factors aside), if someone asked me right this second if I wanted this collection, I would undoubtedly say yes! Like I've said, I'm a fan of Kim's, and I believe Mario is an absolute king for what they have achieved together, of course I would want to support and be apart of this collaboration. I think it's awesome, and with a constant overflow of new products in the beauty industry, this is something that has stood out and excited me.

PS For all of you Aussies out there, the KKW x Mario collaboration drops 5am (Brisbane time) on Friday, April the 6th, 2018 (if my calculations are correct). Good luck..

Keep your wallets open people, because 2 days later your girl Rihanna @ Fenty Beauty is dropping what may be one of the best products of 2018. Now let me introduce you to Fenty Beauty's Body Lumanizer, Body Lava!

I have not discussed any Fenty Beauty products on my blog thus far, but when I saw the Instagram story of Rihanna showcasing what this lovely product can do, I knew I had to share my excitement with someone. Unfortunately, I do not own or have used any Fenty Beauty products, due to the similar circumstances I have mentioned about the KKW Beauty products. Once again, I was overwhelmed with Fenty Beauty's first initial product launch. With so many products, I didn't know where to start or what to purchase first. And the next thing you know, they've dropped another collection.. it's never ending and I think to myself, "Do I start with the basics, like foundation? Or do I buy the newest and latest release, like her galaxy themed palette?" I realise these are first world problems, but that is my reasoning behind my non existent relationship with Fenty Beauty so far. Although I will say, props to Fenty for partnering up with Sephora, because unlike KKW Beauty, I have physical access to Fenty Beauty products, which is really useful for someone like me.

I was initially attracted to this product when it was featured on the Fenty Beauty Instagram story. Rihanna is seen in multiple posts pouring the Body Lava onto her shoulders and decolletage, then proceeding to rub the liquid into her body. And.. I was immediately mesmerized by the golden glow that engulfed her body. I have never worn or tried something like this before, but I want to now. I think this would be a perfect beauty essential during summer, for beach trips, those nights out on the town and you're wearing a cute little off the shoulder piece - a flawless shoulder highlight. If only we weren't coming to the end of summer, here in Australia.

The product is labelled a Body Lumanizer, but that wouldn't stop you from trying a little for a cheekbone highlight or incorporating it into our foundation for that all over goddess glow. I also think it would look stunning on your legs, if you were showcasing a little bit of skin in a short skirt or high slit dress. The options are limitless and I believe this would be a great all round highlighting product to have in any collection.

Release times are dated as April 6th, (assuming that is 12am American time), the Australian time will be Friday the 6th of April at 5pm (times may very and change). BUT, thankfully for us Aussies, it will also be releasing online and in a Sephora store near you (dates are yet to be announced). Eagerly looking foward to it..

Looks like 2018 is off to a magnificent start and I can't wait to see what the year holds for these two brands. Let me know which product drop out of the two you are most excited for and why... and if you end up purchasing any, let me know your thoughts on them.
