Ok, so today I am trialling and reviewing the very
well-known hair treatment – “Hello Hair”. I received this from a family member
as a gift for Christmas and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to include
a little review and first impression on my blog. To be honest, I had previously
seen the product and brand all over Instagram, but never really acknowledged
the product itself and weather it worked and how well it worked. The ‘Hello Hair’ hydrating mask claims that it kicks stressed and dry hair, whilst
hydrating and revitalising your hair with all natural ingredients. It is Australian
made and owned, while being cruelty free and vegan friendly. On paper, it
sounds amazing and I couldn't wait to trial and really pamper my hair.
The informational pamphlet that the mask comes with
informs you that if the product has been exposed to heat or sunlight, to store
it in the refrigerator for a small amount of time so it can be restored to its
original consistency. This is because the ‘Hello Hair’ is an oil based
treatment and you don’t want your product running right through your fingers
when placed or ‘poured’ in your hand – as I later discovered.
It is also suggested, for an extra hydration boost to
wrap your hair in a towel or glad wrap, and so I have opted for this cute hot
pink hair wrap, from K-mart ($6). And basically, that is all you need – so lets
get started.
My initial first impression, is a good one. The packaging
is nice and simple, yet still cute and vibrant. I was a little confused in regards
to the instructions – maybe for some it’s fairly straight forward but I
would've appreciated a little more depth and direction. I did look towards the
website’s FAQ, which slightly helped a little more, but going into the actual
application of the product I wasn't feeling very confident.
I then, poured out the substance, which I didn't realise
is legitimately the consistency of oil, on my hands and then onto my dry hair. Overall,
I probably used about three inconsistent handfuls of product for my roots, my
ends and all that in between. Massaging the oil into my scalp and all through
my hair for about 2-3 minutes, I then put my lovely pink turban – I mean hair
wrap on and set the timer. The recommended time for application is 30 minutes,
although it does state, that the longer you leave the product in the better results
you get. Therefore, I chose to set my timer for 60 minutes, I didn't want it on
for too long especially, it being my first time. But I will definitely be leaving it in for longer the next time I use it - I think my hair would really benefit from that.
After an hour passing, I then hopped into the shower and
washed my hair using the ‘Play’ revitalising shampoo and the ‘Play’ intense
hair mask therapy – that I purchased from my hairdressers (also recommended by
my hairdresser). Another recommendation made by the lovely people at Hello Hair
is that, if you usually have oily hair it may be best to shampoo your hair
twice, because the product itself is very oily – and that is exactly what I did
and I honestly do think it made a big difference. After my shower, I sprayed
some of my ‘Muk’ thermal protector all over my freshly washed hair and began to
blow dry it. Following the blow dry, I went on to straighten my hair and that
is when I really started to see and feel results.
Once I had finished straightening my hair, the overall
appearance of my hair was still a little frizzy (which is fairly common for me),
but running my hands through my hair was extremely smooth and soft, and that’s where
I could really see or feel the difference. Although, I do strongly believe that
the following days did improve the initial results. As each day came, I saw and
felt my hair becoming a lot silkier and moisturised. And obviously, after a
week or so, it will fade away and that’s when you reapply the treatment – as
suggested by the pamphlet (use at least once a week).
So, I will definitely be using this product again,
anything to really help and strengthen my hair I am really open to. Definitely
give it a go, and check out hello hair’s social media links..

PS, I am extremely sorry for being MIA the past couple of weeks. I am back on track and looking forward to some of the posts I have planned for you all. Oh and apologies, for the lack of before and after hair pictures, in this post. I was home alone, and the pictures I did take unfortunately weren't up to standard.
