So, I recently visited the hairdressers and got a little somethin’
somethin’ done to my hair and I thought I would take you guys on the journey
with me.
Just a little background information… I go to ‘M Hair’,
which is in the Boulevarde on Limestone Street, Ipswich and I get my needs
catered to by the lovely Marina. Be sure to check out their Facebook page. I definitely would recommend their services, they are amazing and I always walk out happy with my overall experience.
Within the last year or so, I have been gradually
transitioning my hair colour or better yet, aspiring to change the colour of my
hair. I originally have dark brown hair and I wanted to go for a lighter balayage
look – more specifically a dark blonde or a light caramel colour. I didn’t want
to go bleach blonde, but if anyone remembers when Kim Kardashian recently went
blonde, I was aiming for something similar – and still am aiming for that look.
Initially, I showed the above pictures as inspiration to
my hairdresser and she informed me that it was slightly impossible for me to go
that particular blonde straight away. So instead, Marina suggested going as light
as my dark hair could, and then coming back every couple of months or weeks to
lighten the colour each time. My first original visit, was approximately about
six months ago and lazy me has probably had only two or three visits since
then.
So when I went to my appointment a couple of days ago, I definitely
wanted a trim (inspo again from Kim), and a bit of colour – something a little
lighter preferably. And yes, as you can tell (above), I was due for some sort of service
to my hair – it was atrocious.
Continuing on with the balayage. The hair dye was probably
in for approximately an hour, it was then rinsed and then a toner was massaged
all throughout my hair, basically to lighten the darker aspects (e.g top of the
head/roots). The toner was in for around 5 – 10 minutes, rinsed again, washed
with shampoo and conditioner… And you know the drill, trimmed, blow dried and styled.
After.
I was extremely happy with the end product – loved the
length and loved the colour. Only downside to the result, is my lack of styling
experience. Obviously your hair is at its best, fresh and straight out of the
hairdressers, but after that first wash I always struggle to get it looking the
way I imagined in my head. LOL , so if any of you have experience or know of any
tips, feel free to let me know :)
