Today's blog post is, part I in my empty product reviews. I've basically been saving old bottles and packaging from products I have used up and presenting them to you, with feedback. I decided to split it into two parts, to mix it up a little and because if I wrote about all of the 'empties' I had, it would be a helllla long post. Part II will be uploaded within the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for it.
Anywho, I hope you enjoy the read, and let me know if you've tried any of these products and what you thought of them... or if you have any equivalent recommendations.
At the time, when this was my chosen cleanser, I absolutely
loved it. I felt as though it was cooling on my face, and worked well alongside
the other Biore’ products I used. As you can see, I do have both the older
packaging as well as the new. Whether the brand altered the formula of the
product I am unsure of, but I personally couldn’t tell any difference.
Verdict.
Unfortunately, after the use of two of these I decided
I would venture out from my one branded skincare routine and pursue a more
organic option. There is definitely nothing wrong with this product for me not
to repurchase it, I personally was just not contend with putting those ‘chemically’
substances on my face. Other than that, it did its job of cleansing my face
just fine.
Biore' Daily Detoxify Scrub.*
The reasoning behind my purchase of the daily scrub, was
simply because I wasn’t happy with using just the cleanser, alone. I felt as
though the cleanser was cleaning the surface of my face, and I needed something
I bit more coarse to really get into my pores. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a
skin ‘specialist’ nor am I claiming I am, I don’t have a great deal of
knowledge but, that’s just how I felt and what I thought would be beneficial. Using
the cleanser and scrub together was great, they worked really well together.
Verdict.
In the same way, as the cleanser I did not
repurchase this product because I was looking for something a bit better to be
putting on my face. That also goes to say, that I wouldn’t repurchase or
recommend it, I have just moved on and found something better.
*(Unfortunately, there was some difficulty finding a product link. I am unsure if the product has been re-named or discontinued)
I’m not going to lie, I basically purchased this purely
because I wanted to see if it actually was ‘self-heating’ (and maybe because I needed
a new mask). I believe this particular
product, was a part of Biore’s new and improved range, and at the time, majority
of my skincare was Biore’, so I thought “why not give it a go” – I was intrigued
to say the least. The self-heating component is when the mask is placed on your
wet face it becomes, hot. Not only was this extremely soothing and relaxing, it
was also really fun and exciting. Skincare is not always the most enjoyable, so
when it’s mixed up with a little bit of, (would you call it, chemical
reactions?) it’s nice for a change.
Apart from the ‘fun’ side of things, my face felt
extremely rejuvenated and smooth afterwards. But unfortunately, I wouldn’t go
as far as saying that feeling lasted for more than 12 hours. Another drawback
would have to be the quantity of 4 in a pack. Biore’ recommends on the back of
the product to use the mask up to 2 or 3 times a week, which would only give
you a maximum of 2 weeks usage. I don’t know about you but for an occasional ‘treat’
mask, I would appreciate maybe a months’ worth. Hence why I only used my masks,
maybe once every fortnight just to prolong that time for a little longer.
Verdict.
At, $7.99 I would purchase this again,
simply because it was fun and for an indulgent (once a week) kind of mask or
girls pamper night, it is affordable. Stocked at your general supermarkets and
pharmacies, you can always find Biore’ products on sale.
Again, this is another repurchase, I have been using
these pore strips since forever. I remember the first time I used them , my mum
brought them for me because I told her I didn’t like the ‘dots’ on my nose (how
young and naive of me lol). Similar to the self-heating mask, at the time of
using the product my nose feels amazing, but again, I wouldn’t say that my
pores don’t ever come back or are gone forever. Obviously the product just gets
what’s on the surface, which helps the problem a little bit, but more so my self-confidence
(because I have big ass pores). These are great for one of those pamper nights,
or if you just feel a bit ‘clogged up’ in that area. Oh, and the fact that you
physically see your pores being ripped out from their comfortable little hidey-holes,
I find mentally comforting (weird, I know, I’m also one of those people that
picks their boyfriends pimples, so yeah, go ahead and judge, LMAO).
Verdict.
Yes, I will repurchase.
I have 2 empty packets of these wipes, so I think it’s
safe to say… I love them! I have probably used them for a year now and I don’t think
I will ever change back to whatever I was using before. These wipes are extremely
gentle, they remove my makeup and they don’t dry out – which is the best part
about them. It’s always helpful and practical when the last wipe of the packet
is just as wet as the first one.
Verdict.
Of course I would re-purchase, in fact I already
have. The cleansing wipes come in a twin pack that I buy, only because I find
it more convenient and cheaper and that way when I run out, I have backups J Again, these guys can
be found at any major pharmacy or supermarket on sale, which works out even
better!
Unfortunately, I don’t know the specific name for this
brush, but it is the detangling version, if that helps anyone. It claims to be nicer
and not so rough on the scalp, which I can kind of vouch for. Previously, I would just use a cheap hair brush and you can definitely feel the difference between the
two. When you use the brush towards the beginning of its life, it is very therapeutic
and gentle on the scalp. And I find it tends to handle knots a lot better than
your ordinary brush. But, towards the end you can definitely tell it’s not
working as good as it should be, and you know it’s time for a new one.
Verdict.
Yes, I have repurchased. And I definitely
wouldn’t go back those cheaper brushes, I was using before.
I think it’s fairly obvious that when I like a product, I
tend to stick with it. Tropical was the very first scent I ever used and it
wasn’t until recently that I actually decided to try another scent (which I am
currently using, that being the ‘Sassy & Striking Mamba’ scent – purely chosen
for the resemblance of leopard print). Clearly, dry shampoo is every girl’s
saviour- whether you use it on a daily basis or once a week, it’s always handy
to have just in case. Batiste is the only brand of dry shampoo I have used, I’m
pretty happy with it so I don’t see myself changing it anytime soon.
Verdict.
Will repurchased and have repurchased.
This baby is my ride or die. I love it, I know it makes
me feel comfortable and it is very gentle on my skin.
Verdict.
I would repurchase this 100 times over.
Ok, so the purchase of this deodorant was a very spur of
the moment and out of the blue buy. I don’t use spray deodorants because they
can tend to irritate my armpits (sorry for the TMI moment). And you must be
thinking to yourself, why on earth did I use it all up if it irritates my skin
- well I simply didn’t want to waste my money lol (yes, I am many things, and
stingy is one of them). I’m pretty sure I only brought this because I was out
of deodorant and I was in desperate need of one.
Verdict.
Obviously, never again.
Again, what’s new? I have 3 empty cans of these, so yes,
this is a repurchased product. Not much too really say about these body sprays.
I’ve been using this particular scent for years now , I first purchased when it
was in the blue can (as pictured) – and if you remember these older designs ,
HOLLLLAAAA! I’m not quite sure if it’s just me, but I feel as though when the
packaging changed, so did the scent , its definitely not as strong as it used
to be. But that’s ok, body spray to me is just a cheaper alternative to
perfume (I personally don't like wearing/'wasting' perfume on the daily).
Verdict.
Yes. Will be repurchasing (only when and
where I can find it on sale). If it’s not on sale – don’t buy it!! It’s a rip
off otherwise (in my opinion).
To be continued...
